Director Pa Ranjith has joined hands with superstar Rajinikanth for the second consecutive time, after the success of Kabali. Kaala, produced by Rajinikanth’s son-in-law and actor Dhanush, will be released worldwide on April 27.
Dhanush took to Twitter to share that the much-awaited teaser of his dream project Kaala will be released on March 1. He wrote, “The news you have all been waiting for. #kaala TEASER FROM MARCH 1ST. Get ready to be in awe of our one and only Superstar’s charisma and style.”
Dhanush also promised a treat for Rajinikanth fans. Roughly translated, his words mean, “You haven’t seen Kaarikalan’s rowdy avatar, haven’t you? You will see it soon.”
Earlier, it was rumoured that the teaser would be unveiled on March 10. Now, the makers have pushed its release for reasons best known to them.
Kaala focuses on the life of an aged slumlord-turned-gangster who fights against the injustice meted out to the people of Dharavi.
A few weeks back, a fight scene from Kaala was leaked and went viral on social media. Huma Qureshi, who plays Rajinikanth’s girlfriend in the flashback portion, felt that the leak was unfair to the team who worked so hard.
Kaala, which has music composed by Santhosh Narayanan, will also star Samuthirakani, Nana Patekar and Sampath in prominent roles.
